Emergency Business Communication Network (BECON)

It is of utmost importance that the region’s business community stays up to date on the latest disasters and crises affecting their continuity and safety. The PA Region 13 Task Force and its business partner, the Pittsburgh Regional Business Coalition for Homeland Security have worked to ensure that the region’s businesses has access to this information, and can assist their planning, response or recovery from man-made or natural disasters.

BECON is a communications program created to address this communications need. Specific disaster-related communicationsare developed by the PA Region 13 Task Force’s county emergency managers and delivered via email to businesses. These notifications are received by businesses based upon their location, their infrastructure, or both. 

To participate, businesses located within Region 13 simply have to provide company information; such as company name, email(s) for their designated contact(s) and county or counties of operation.
