Coalition Strategic Initiatives
- Sustainable funding stream from a broad source of revenue and increased by ten fold ($2M):
- How will the Coalition secure stable funding sources?
- Looking for revenue sources from membership, sponsorship, good and services…
- Strategy for getting funding from various sources (e.g. local, state, federal, private, philanthropic, foundations)
- Overall structure of Coalition membership dues
- Organization framework for volunteers and leaders (e.g. Board and Staff) committed to fulfilling our 2015 Vision
- Establish a Coalition Operational model
- Define competencies/needs of Coalition Staff
- Leverage membership (e.g. universities…)
- Board composition, governance, roles and responsibilities
- Succession planning for staff
- Evaluate products and services the Coalition can provide
- Communications strategy that articulates the value of the Coalition across all key stakeholders
- Define internal and external stakeholders – (media, clients/customers, federal state and local government agencies…)
- Develop key messages for individual stakeholders
- Define communication vehicles for delivering key messages
- Effective approach for maintaining and enhancing key relationships to increase the effectiveness of the Coalition.
- Key relationships must include but are not limited to Region 13 county emergency managers, chamber commissioners, major financial supporters and key public officials.
- Utilizing and engaging the Board and membership
- Retention strategy
- Focus on efficiency in terms of use of people’s time (e.g. Kelly, Board, members)
- Define an appropriate membership model that enhances Coalition growth and strengthens its value.
- Define an appropriate membership model which does not just focus on increasing the number of members. Rather, the focus of the membership model is on securing members that increase value.
- Enlist the support of the “Top 100” companies.
